Scaling Our Movement: Highlights from the Latest Bay Area Preservation Finance Table Meeting
Earlier this month, the Bay Area Preservation Finance Table (BAPFT) gathered for its sixth quarterly convening—one of our largest yet, with over 60 organizations represented. What began as a small circle has grown into a dynamic and diverse coalition of funders, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), banks, public agencies, research institutions, Community Land Trusts, and more, all united by a shared commitment to preserving affordability and expanding community ownership across the Bay Area and beyond.

We marked a victory today for community-rooted preservation in San Francisco: the Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a resolution in support of Assembly Bill 670. The San Francisco Community Land Trust (SFCLT) is proud to have played a key role in moving this effort forward—helping to author the resolution and speaking in support during public comment at City Hall.
Living Together, Learning Together: Strengthening Co-op Communities
SFCTL has launched an ongoing, bilingual workshop series led by Co-op Program Manager Mayerling Castillo designed to meet the everyday needs of residents and support the long-term sustainability of cooperative housing. Through practical tools and shared experiences, each session helps residents strengthen their understanding of co-op governance, conflict resolution, and financial stewardship. More than just a training, this series is part of SFCLT’s larger mission: to ensure that community-owned housing remains not only permanently affordable, but also democratic, resilient, and rooted in collective power.
