Sign up for the SFCLT newsletter and get a free ticket for you and a guest to Reclaiming Home — a night of film, conversation, and community building that highlights the growing movement for housing justice and community ownership.

On Wednesday, September 17, SFCLT is proud to present Reclaiming Home, a one-night event featuring a screening of Rabble Rousers: Frances Goldin and the Fight for Cooper Square, an inspiring documentary that chronicles one of the most successful community ownership and anti-displacement battles in New York City history. Through rare archival footage and first-person accounts, Rabble Rousers tells the story of organizers who stopped a top-down urban renewal plan and created a model for permanently affordable housing that endures to this day.

Following the screening, stay for a panel discussion connecting the legacy of Cooper Square to today’s fights for housing justice in San Francisco. Local organizers and residents from the San Francisco Community Land Trust will join housing rights leaders to explore what it means to build people power and reclaim land for community, not for profit.

The night also includes a raffle featuring items from Mission District small businesses, honoring the culture and community of the neighborhood we call home. Raffle proceeds will support both SFCLT’s work to preserve affordable housing and the Roxie Forever campaign to ensure The Roxie thrives for generations to come.

Come for the film, stay for the movement. Let’s reclaim home together.
